SOLUTIONS AND EVOLUTION
The exhibition Solutions and Evolutions in the cellar of Nostic Palace brings together several curatorial projects. One of them is LET’S SPIT ON THE GENIUS by the Spanish curator Blanca de la Torre. This section contains a collection of works from the ARTIUM Collection (the centre for contemporary art in the Basque region), presenting works by several Spanish artists who deal with feminism and the role of women in contemporary art. The next section, titled PLATONIC LIVES, is presented by the Polish curator Ola Grzonkowska. It examines the relationship between science and art and lays out possible solutions for the current state of the world.
These two curatorial projects are complemented by works dealing with new forms and ideas from the sections TINA B. ON THE ROAD and TINA B.’s SPECIAL.

TINA B. ON THE ROAD
At the Czech Centre in Prague the Tina B. Contemporary Art Festival is showing an exhibition of work by several foreign artists called Tina B. on the Road.
The multimedia installations, videos, and special projects in this exhibition were not selected to conform to a single curatorial idea but rather represent a selection of the most original works that the festival’s mysterious patroness, Tina B., found in her journeys in search of art around the world. However, in a surprising manner the exhibition reflects various artistic views of reality today.

Exhibiting artists:
Aljoscha (Ukraine), Catherine Bechard and Sabin Hudon (Canada), Geir Brungot (Norway), Linda Čihářová (Czech Republic), Gianluca Codeghini+Dario Bellini (Italy), Judith Cowan (UK), Jaro Dufek (Czech Republic), Boris Elgadsen (Germany), Hektor Mamet (Switzerland), Jonas Nilsson (Norway), Oldschooldesign (Czech Republic), Tereza Příhodová (Czech Republic), Kit Reisch (USA), Streaming Museum – curator: Nina Colosi, cameraVideo – curator: Caterina Benvegnu.

[3] JERUSALEM SYNAGOGUE - Jeruzalémská 7 - Prague 1

JERUSALEM SYNAGOGUE
Each year the TINA B. Contemporary Art Festival looks for unique spaces in which to hold its exhibitions. This very often brings the festival to places that are not usually used as gallery spaces.
This year a unique cultural monument located in Prague 1 has become one of the festival’s venues – the Jerusalem Synagogue.
The Jerusalem Synagogue was built in 1905-1906 and was designed by the Viennese architect Wilhelm Stiassný and built by the builder Alois Richter. It is a unique example of a free Secessionist stylisation of Moorish style. Few buildings of this type can be found in Europe. The Jerusalem Synagogue is moreover fully functional and for over a century has served the Jewish community in Prague. At the turn of the millennium it underwent extensive renovation allowing lovers of architecture to admire its exceptional beauty and uniqueness to date. The organisers of the Tina B. Festival discovered the magic of this building and decided to form a link between this gem of Prague architecture and contemporary art. They chose to install the resonating photographs of the Israeli artist Orit Ishay and the work of the Austrian artist Katharina Lackner in the synagogue’s interior. The exhibition, characteristically titled the Jerusalem Synagogue, is an example of how contemporary and historically valued art coming together to create an irreplaceable experience.

Exhibiting artists: Orit Ishay (IL) and Katharina Lackner (AT)

[4] JÓB GALLERY - Štítného 24 Žižkov - Prague 3

SPECTATOR IS A WORKER, UNEXPECTED COUNTRY
At the newly opened Jób Gallery in Žižkov the Italian curator Daniele Capra is presenting two projects, UNEXPECTED COUNTRY and THE SPECTATOR IS A WORKER, which address the social-artistic context of the economic crisis at the start of the 21st century, with the belief that perception, experience, and emotion, thus with the viewer as a subject, are means with which to change opinions and situations. In Unexpected Country, Daniele Capra presents are videos by artists from Albania.

[5] VERNON PROJEKT - Heřmanova 12 - Prague 7

Social & Political Structure of Fantasy, Daniel González (Argentina)
‘Change the world’ is a declaration mainly associated with politicians, and in the case of notions about modernist culture with the role of the artist.
Changing the world means changing the state of reality through our own vision using rules that we can adapt for our own needs in order to incite a rebellion through beauty…By being able to dream about reality as though it were a raw material and by creating a space for freedom in which conventions collapse. By believing that we can change the world.

SMALL IS BEAUTIFUL
Tina B. likes nice small things. No work of art escapes her unnoticed and she values even those pieces that other collectors overlook. The exhibition ‘Small Is Beautiful’ is made up of just such untraditional works of art and is very suitably located in the private Vernon Studio Gallery.
The Morava Publishing House exhibits artistically designed publications at Vernon Gallery, while the group of designers called Oldschooldesign present a graphically unique catalogue. The Italian artist Anna Monichi is bringing the project ‘Barbie Chair’ to the exhibition, a chair created out of the parts of the popular toy – the plastic beauty Barbie. The Italian artist Ludovico Bomben is bringing ‘Write Me/2’ – an image-sign created out of ordinary pencils on a metal construction. ‘Small Is Beautiful’ is an exhibition of works that should not be overlooked but nonetheless often are. So here they are – don’t overlook them.

Exhibiting artists:

Ladislav Babuščák, Ludovico Bomben, Orit Ishay, Anna Monichi, Santi Moix, MORAVA Publishing House a Carlos No.
